Here’s one pairing I didn’t ever anticipate writing about! One of our favourite rising stars, Dane DeHaan, is set to join the iconic rock band Metallica on the big screen, in a new 3D feature film that has already completed filming.
“Metallica Through The Never” follows DeHaan as “a young band crew member who is sent out on an urgent mission while [Metallica play] a rousing live set in front of a sold-out crowd and unexpectedly finds his world turned completely upside down.”
Metallica.com report that the film is set for release on August 9th 2013 and the film has been directed by Nimord Antal. In summer of 2012 three nights of filming took place in Vancouver at a Metallica concert so it sounds like we can expect some Metallica classics throughout the film, but no word on what happens to DeHaan outside of the stadium.
DeHaan has gone from strength to strength in 2012, from the critical smash “Chronicle” to Cannes where he premiered “Lawless“, to joining his first franchise, the sequel to “The Amazing Spider-Man“, co-starring Andrew Garfield and Shailene Woodley.
